a new begining
---------------
Well.. for the past 3 days, i had my school orientation. The first day was rather tiring. Because first of the day before that, 18th April, i had my job training which was at Toa Payoh and i reached home about midnight. Then the next day i had to wake up at 5.30am! Imagine that! Omg! Anywayz, i did manage to wake up... So.. throughout the train journey, i just couldn't sleep.. eventhough i was darn tired and lethargic. I guess i was just worried about the orientation... So...anywayz... met my cuz at tampines interchange... So.. went to school together... But we kinda took the awfully wrong bus because the journey to school was like FOREVER! Ended up, we reached school about 15mins late... And then had our names registered... Then we went seperate ways... I was lead to a lecture hall... It was almost full.. And i got to know that my class is F606! Nice number, huh? My fav no.6!!! wohoo! okok... and then... the student leaders sort of entertained us for a while before the real speaker arrived. They were a bunch of loud people, i tell u!!! Never fail to make me life! So.. the first person i made friends with was the person who sat next to me! Which was the normal thing, i guess... After the speech, we were lead to our classes(which i later found out isn't our 'permanent' classroom.) So.. we had the normal introduction thing... and i kinda said..."i'm fiza.. i didn't have any school last year, so my last school was boon lay sec." and.. i guess there were a few puzzled faces... Later on after that i explained to them that i re-took my o levels as private candidate.. and they're like, "oohh.." So.. yah... then we had the ice-breaker game.. And.. after a while... sort of after getting to know them a bit better, i realised that almost half of the class... had similar faces and personalities to my sec 4 classmates! REALLY! At times i almost called them by ex-classmates names... my goodness! And i even told some of them, "eh..u really look and sound like my ex-classmate leh!" Itz true! Which was rather a good thing... coz somehow... because of the similarity.. i could easily adapt to the new environment and get to know them... I feel that, i'm together with my old buddies and that i was never left out! So.. it felt good.. Then erm.. we had to learn our school song using sign language.. Gosh.. i should have mastered it while i had the chance in secondary school...but too bad i didn't! So... was really struggling with it.. Then we had mass dance... which we had to partner up with the opposite sex... Which was fun.. i really enjoyed it... It was really a lotta fun... but i could have enjoyed it better if only.... Oh well... Nobody's perfect, rite? Anywayz.. then we had to learn cheers... to prepare us for the competition between the other 4 schools (IT/BUS/DESIGN/APPLIED SCIENCE). So... that's about it i guess... We were dismissed about 6 plus.. And..my goodness... everybody rushed to the bus stop and it was chaotic! I had to wait for half the crowd to disappear before i finally had the chance to sit down and think of what bus to take... You know.. i was terribly tired and sleepy and i looked like a mess... and..suddenly...there's this dude...who just sat next to me and asked, "hey, what bus goes to the interchange?" And.. omg! I tell you... i was stunned! by what you ask? BY HIS BEAUTY! I mean... gosh... he's so good-looking... For the few seconds... i was just staring at his beautiful, shining eyes and.. not a word came out of my mouth! And then somehow i suddenly came back to reality and i was like, "oh shoot! what did he ask me????!!!! omg!!!" Then all of a sudden i just shoot out 2 buses at him. And he's like, "oh..alright then. Thanks." And he just walked off... AAAAHHHHH!!! MY GAWD! That was a good ending for my wreckless day!
So...anywayz... the second day... We still did the similar stuff.. But we sort of had a tour around the school... And as it was rather a wet day, we had indoor games... The game that i enjoyed the most was the arrow games! Itz hard to explain it but it was a blast! I had a nice time bullying the student leader! After that had the mass dance thingy again.. I was rather nervous to know who's my partner.. Coz.. erm...yah.. But he was a gentleman. And he was one of the student leaders, mind you. I think he understood the situation that i was in, and just kept mum about it. And he actually sort of told me indirectly that eventhough i'm just not like the others, i still can have fun with it... AND I DID! He was my best dance partner.. Tanx dude! I actually wanted to find time to tell him that i appreaciate him being my partner and that i enjoyed it a lot... But... i just didn't have the chance to do so... Nonetheless, thanks for being so understanding! There were times... i sort of saw him looking at me with a pity look... And i just look back at him, sort of replying,"hey..nobody's perfect.. i'm just fated to be like this..don't feel sorry for me.." But i try not to make this small issue disheartened me to enjoy poly life or join the activities in school... Anywayz after that had a campfire thingy... well.. sumthin like that ah... we had to assemble at the sports complex hall... We were entertained by the engineering students... There were dance performances and a mini-drama... Then had some last preparations for the cheer competition... And then to end it off, we had out mass dance again.... And lastly did the CHICKY DANCE! DAMN CUTE! AHAHAHA... love it! And the whole thing ended about 10plus... And..knowing that i was the only one living in Jurong, some of them were asking, "so how r u going home...?" Remembering that i still had my $50... I decided to take a taxi... Evenso, waiting for the taxi was like hell.. The whole stretch of road were students waiting for taxi... And so... i had to walk down..the road... away form the others... And lucky for me, a taxi just happened to drop off the passenger just next to me! So.. i was like, "yay! I'm saved!" So.. got in and afraid that the uncle won't take me, i told him my destination first. And his reply was, "can..can..of course.." So.. yah... then...we started a conversation... i started it by asking him, "just now at the bus stop got a lot of people waiting for taxi right?" And he's like, "YAH... got a lot...!" So.. we started talking from there... he asked what course i'm taking... why i chose a school that's so far from home.. and all that... He confessed to me that he regret not studying hard in sec school.. He's only 33yrs old, which is to me, not that old... And that he only stopped at N LEVEL... Now he did odd jobs.. working for his brother... and as part-time taxi driver... And even told me to study hard... don't be like him.. i felt sorry for him... And then to change the topic.. he told me he just came back from Bangkok.. So.. he told me about his trip... And said that he'd planned for the next holiday destination... which is Vietnam.. ahhaa... We had a great heart to heart conversation... And that's how i'd want to end my day... Just to talk to someone about anything... Then... when we've arrived my block... The fare was actually $17.60 but he said, "Just give me $17 can already..." He's a nice chap i tell you... Then before i got off he told me, "ALL THE BEST TO U!" And i replied back, "tanx ah... you too ok?!" What a friendly taxi-driver... fuh.. reached home just before 11pm...
Then the last day... i reported to school late.. Everybody else was there.. So.. yah... did some cheer... and..then.. went to the sports stadium... watched the olympiad/tele-match... My classmate and i were like...cheering and shouting as loud as we could... but there just had to be lazy bums amongst us... i was darn pissed ok! We were all enthusiastic and putting all out energy into cheering and they just had to defy us by just sitting there... talking among themselves... can't even be bothered to join us! And i really pity the student leaders who tried so hard to get us into cheering and supporting our school... SHEESH! I guess some people are just like that... Then... our school actually came in last for most of the challenges... But..that didn't stop me or some of others from cheering and supporting them... But that isn't the end of it... there's still hope for us to win somethin... coz... lter after that, we had a rigita challenge.. something like boat race... And we just had to walk to the back of our school to get to the bedok resevoir... and..it was pouring... ahah...so..by the time we reached the tent, we were drenched! Anywayz... there, we were judged by our cheering... so... i really put in a lot of effort and heart into the cheerings.. and...again... there are some...who just...just...can't be bothered! They're just sitting there...keeping quiet... palying with the grass...or...whatever insects that they saw... omg! I was really shouting my lungs out.. And i thought... i'd be really disappointed if we didn't win.. I mean... my school has about 1000+ students... whereas the other schools are just half of us.. or even less...! And the student leaders did tell us that they were reprimanded by the head department because they didn't win last year and told us... we're being complacent just because we had a lotta students... so.. itz like... we're confident juz because we had a lot of manpower... But that isn't true... I mean if everybody did their part in cheering, there'd be a chance of winning... But...looking at those group of people... argh! So infuriating! Really makes my blood boil! I really felt like shouting at them, especially the guyz, "why the F*** aren't you shouting/cheering?!!!" AAAHHH! I hate those people... Not sporting at all...! No sportsmanship quality at all... NONE...ZILCH! So.. turned out...we did win a few races... Then.. at the end of it all... they announced the best cheer... And..i was nervous... i thought we did pretty good.. Then... i got to know... it wasn't us... in fact, the winner was the school with the least students and was sitting at the far-end of the tent... nobody could hear them... So... yah.. we were disappointed... Especially the student leaders... And.. some of the students even had the cheek to shout, " hayyah...WE DIDN'T WIN LAH!" And they are the students who DIDN'T CHEER! They never did their part! And now they're complaining... what the heck is wrong with them?! I.D.I.O.T.S! MY GAWD...
So... then... we went back to class... Were told that we cannot go home yet... So.. stayed there... my class student leaders... gave us advice and all that... And..said our goodbyes... Which was... aah.. i must say, rather sad... I was touched by the hard work that they put in for us.. Overall... i really do appreciate all their hard work... And ..i'm even thinking to be one of them! They called themselves the i-HUB club... So...maybe i shall join them... and.. motivate other sutdents/freshies to do the same!
Aah... So... now i'm done with the orientation... Next week... Is the start of the first semester... And... On Monday... there was supposed to be 4 hours of lab/lecture but... we were told that our lecturer will be away on a course...so... we only had to stay for 2 hours! And the class starts at 12noon! Cool huh... What a great start... So... i guess... i'll be looking forward to Monday...!
